Rules and Regulations

1. Once application is approved, a contract will be written. This must be signed and returned with payment to have space secured. Spaces are limited and therefore it is necessary to book your space as early as possible.

2. Vendors are required to set up and be in their booths by opening time. Vendors must remain with their booth set up until closing time. Failure to be open may result in forfeit of your rental and contract will be cancelled. Attending late or closing early without email notification to admin@centennialmarket.ca and approval may result in violations. See chart below. NOTE that Special Event Dates may have varied TIMES for opening and closing and each vendor is asked to accommodate these changes.

3. Sold out vendors must display a “sold out” sign on their table and remain completely set up until closing. Vendors are not permitted to pack-up and leave the market early.

4. Sell only products listed in your contract. Additional products must be approved and contracts must be adjusted by a board member.

5. Vendors may NOT bring pets to the market. Special allowances will be made for organizations such as rescue groups. If you require your animal to be at the market, as special request can be made to admin@centennialmarket.ca Do not bring your animal till this has been approved. Animals will not be permitted in or around any food vendors at any time.

6. Best selling practice. Ensure that product pricing is displayed in a clear and obvious way. Always engage with customers. Stay alert and try not to be distracted by electronic devices as they turn customers away. 7. No aggressive sales towards customers or other vendors will be permitted. No demos or promoting products outside of your booth will be permitted.

8. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. Centennial Market is committed to providing and maintaining a collegial working environment that is free from harassment where individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Every shopper, employee, volunteer and vendor has the fundamental right to work, shop and sell in an environment free of harassment, therefore, it is expected that all contact between co-workers, the public and others be respectful, professional and courteous at all times.

9. All products for sale need to meet the laws, regulations and rules as specified by federal, provincial and municipal bodies, local health authorities, the Centennial Market and the certifying body the vendor belongs to. It is up to each vendor to know and comply with all provincial and federal tax requirements. Vendors who are deemed in violation of any above regulations will be subjected to a notice of suspension and immediate suspension of business may be enforced if the need to preserve the health, safety or welfare of the market customers, market staff, volunteers or the public. No refunds for monies paid will be issued.

10. Vendors are responsible for the safety and security of their products while at the market. The Centennial Market is not responsible for any loss, theft or damage to vendors merchandise, displays or products at any time.

11. Vendors are responsible for their own insurance, permits and licenses and agree that Centennial Market and Colliers International hold no liability for your product, materials or any associated liability.

12. Throughout the market, pictures and videos may be taken. These are intended for social media sites or press releases. Please sign and return media release form attached with application.
13. Vendors are to park their vehicles in the parking lot across at 6th Ave and Hamilton St. If you require accessible parking, a special allowance sign in sheet must be signed. The accessible parking is very limited.

14. The market and immediate vicinity is a Family Friendly area and all are expected to act appropriately. Vendors are required to wear shirts and shoes are all times. Vendors must wear clean clothing and present a professional appearance. Business casual or your business clothing would be recommended. Foul language, profanity or other rude behavior is strictly prohibited.

15. Vendors are to make no structural changes to the spaces they are renting without previous approval from the board. This includes but is not limited to painting, shelving, walls, flooring, etc.

16. Termination or Cancellation of contracts as well as end of lease agreements; Vendors are responsible for having their rental spaces returned to original state. This is including but not limited to clean floors, walls intact, garbage removed. Centennial Market will not allow any fixtures to be removed that have been attached to the building or its structure. Any items such as merchandise, signage or display items become procession of the Centennial Market upon your removal. These timelines and rules will be explained in the contract.

17. Cancellations must be in writing and emailed to admin@centennialmarket.ca. Do not assume that message has been received if you don’t receive confirmation. Refund cheques will come from the office once confirmation of original payment is made. This may take 2-4 weeks.

18. Last minute cancellations made by phone, email or messenger will be subject to a $50.00 fee until the vendor provides corroboration evidence to explain the reason for their absence. Fee exemptions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
