Busker Guidelines:

The Centennial Market is inviting buskers to apply and if selected perform at the market throughout the year. Centennial Market is a unique shopping experience in the heart of the Warehouse District. It is not only Regina’s largest indoor market, but also the largest in Saskatchewan.

The Centennial Market board of directors is looking for buskers whose music would be complementary to an indoor market. Specifically, we are looking for musicians and entertainers with acoustic, easy-listening music. The music should be able to be a background sound for customers to enjoy while still maintaining the ability for clear communication with vendors.

Busker Rules:

  • Only approved buskers will be permitted to perform at the market.
  • Amplification of instruments or devices is allowed with written permission of a market board member. This permission will be stored in your file for reference.
  • Buskers can collect tips. Performers cannot ask for money or require payment. A donation basket in one location near the busker will be permitted.
  • All buskers are responsible to adhering to all Federal, Provincial, and City regulations, laws and guidelines.
  • Buskers must be courteous to adjacent vendors and the performance must not impede traffic flow.
  • Buskers are permitted at predetermined locations only. These locations are set out by the market board and will be indicated to the buskers prior to performance.
  • Buskers are responsible for providing their own stands and other needed materials. A limited number of chairs can be provided.
  • Buskers are allowed to sell cd’s or albums. Other sales need to be approved by the Market board.
  • Buskers are required to check in at the office on day of performance.
  • Buskers are required to notify the market via email (admin@centennialmarket.ca) if unable to attend market so that we can notify other buskers and fill the space. Frequent last minute cancellations may results in future time slots being revoked.
  • Busking musicians may only perform their own original music. The Centennial Market does not hold a SOCAN license, and as such the performance of music copyrighted by other musicians is not permitted.
  • The Centennial Market reserves the right to suspend a busker’s performance and attendance with no notice for any reason.
